The Pinewood Headquarters

The Pinewood Headquarters.

The Pinewood Headquarters is known as the "dojo". In Japanese this means "a place of enlightenment". In the dojo, one is expected to act with control and respect.

When entering the dojo, students of Pinewood bow and say "OSU". Shoes are not worn in the main training hall.

The front of the training hall is called the "shomen". Meditation is done before and after training, facing the shomen.

We have a Pinewood Affirmation, which is said before class and the Pinewood Pledge is said at the end of class.

Both the Affirmation and the Pledge are said while in Seiza after meditation.
